Anything Left to Eat?

In the line of reading sparked by The Omnivore's Dilemma, I am now listening to the audiobook The Way We Eat, by Peter Singer. So far, the description of the conditions of poultry are striking, especially some of the things they do even to cage-free hens. Even when I buy the most expensive, organic eggs in the supermarket, I'm contributing to de-beaking. Ugh. Frog-Toad Chorus

I made another recording of the frogs last night in the pond near my home, and just posted it here to Citizen Keene. These guys are really loud--my neighbor says they make more noise than twenty Keene State students. If anybody knows exactly what sound is from what creature, I'd like to know more. Peepers

I love the sound of peepers (treefrogs)--a real Cheshire county sound to me. (I don't remember them from Lyndeborough, but maybe I just didn't notice.) I made a short recording of them (finally figured out my digital camera will record short videos and that I can do so even in the dark).
