About Me:
Work in the field of land conservation, play music on the side, interested in climate change and source reduction issues.

Also, I'm a facilitator for the visioning process in Keene's Comprehensive Master Planning - so if you have ideas about what you'd like to see change in Keene, things you like about it, things you would do differently, you can message me here and I'll pass your feedback on to city staff.

Visioning forum dates

Hello, all - If you're interested in an informal visioning forum session, I've scheduled two: Thursday, May 29th at 6pm and Thursday, June 5th at 6pm Both sessions will be held at the E. F. Lane lounge, downtown - I chose this venue simply because it's quiet, spacious, generally empty, and has a good brew selection. I'm guessing we'll spend about 1 1/2 hours talking about the 5 standard questions that are part of the visioning process, and writing ideas on a map of Keene. I'll take notes and re… Continue

Visioning forum invite

Hello, friends - You live or work in Keene. What do you like about Keene? What would you like to change? Would you like to have input in the visioning process as the City begins to write a Comprehensive Master Plan? I've offered to be a facilitator for community input forums, but I'd like to get some informal feedback from members of my generation (twenty and thirty-somethings), which is a minority in Keene's population. Let me know if you'd be interested in getting together on a Wednesday or T… Continue

Birds

Went birding this morning in Keene's cemetery, and with the help of my good friend Ken who knows much more about birds, identified the following: yellow-rumped warbler, ruby-crowned kinglet, blue-grey gnatcatcher, American bittern, tufted titmouse, goldfinch, pine warbler, chipping sparrow, song sparrow, hairy (?) woodpecker, least flycatcher, red-winged blackbird, grackle, American crow, raven, chicadee (of course), blue-headed vireo, American robin, and swamp sparrow. Ken, correct me if I've f… Continue

Spring

Spring is finally here. Magnolia blossoms are falling off and cherry blossoms are emerging. Amphibians are becoming a common sight. Canada mayflower is poking up through the leaf litter along with a few fiddleheads, and insects are on the move. I'm looking for great spots to find mating woodcock, ephemeral flowers, and nesting herons. Let me know if you have some good spots to share!
