About Me:
Brattleboro "Native". Came the the Monadnock Region by way of YMCA Camp Takodah. Started messing around with the Internet while I was the Director of the place, liked it enough to get a Master Degree from Marlboro College Graduate Center.

Currently work at Lucidus Internet Consulting here in Keene.

Very involved with the 04Dean Campaign, less so 08Obama. Largest political thrill thus far was helping Molly Kelly get elected to NH State Senate in 2006. (All politics is local)

Founding member of KidsFirstMonadnock! a school support organization focused on increasing citizen involvement (turnout, candidate ID and support) for the Monadnock Regional School District.

Father of 3, Husband to 1.

Seeking Camp Takodah Alumni

One of the area's great institutions is YMCA Camp Takodah (of course having spent 21 summers of my life there I might be a bit biased). We started up "Ning Thing" for Alumni of Takodah and thought it would be good to promote it here. http://takodah.ning.com It has really taken off and we have representaion from the 70's to the present, lots of pictures, camp music, etc. If you are an alumnus or if you know any alumni please pass the URL along! Thanks Mike

Brief Report from MRSD Board Meeting

I attended the first two hours of the MRSD board meeting tonight. My primary purpose was to take a board member to task for his recent letter to the Sentinel attempting to shame fellow board members who did not vote in favor of the Board taking a position on the decriminalization bill before the NH Senate. As if they don't have enough on their plates already. With that out of the way, the meeting seemed to go pretty well (while I was there, MRSD meeting are famous for their 12pm adjournments)… Continue

First Most Important Record/Band

My first "Most Important Record/Band" was R.E.M's Reckoning. It was a bolt out of the blue when in struck me in 1984. R.E.M.s music defined my teenage and college years and opened the door for me to other alternative music such as Echo and the Bunnymen, Yaz, The Cure, The Smiths, etc. There was another band that had a similar impact 10 years later but I will post on that another day. What was your 'First Most Im… Continue

New School for Marlborough! 446Y/210N

From the Sentinel MARLBOROUGH -- Nine attempts later, Marlborough voters said "yes" to a new school. Tuesday night, 446 voters gave the okay, while 210 said "no." The measure needed a two-thirds vote to pass. There was no move to reconsider the vote. For complete coverage of Tuesday's decision in Marlborough, check out Wednesday's Sentinel.

Sentinel Covers SB479

Sponsored by D10 Sen Molly Kelly this bill would have a major impact on facilities issues facing the district (Particularly Marlborough) http://www.sentinelsource.com/main.asp?SectionID=31&SubSectionID=37&ArticleID=184020 "This change would bring majority requirements in traditional school districts - where warrant articles are amended and voted on during a town meeting - in line with the 60 percent required for bond passage in official ballot districts, where voters consider all warran… Continue

Forgot about the Lemonheads song. I think I first tried it as a result of picking apart that title ("what's a mallo cup?"). They've been a fave since college. - way better than Twizzlers

Thanks for the comment, Mike. You're more than welcome to cross-post anything...I'm thinking of cleaning the post up and sending it to the Sentinel, so we'll see how that looks.
