About Me:
I'm Director of Online Communications at Keene State, but this site has nothing to do with that. Locally I'm probably best known for co-founding and co-managing Blue Hampshire, a position I recently stepped down from to launch Citizen Keene.

I went to Keene State back in 1987-1993. I got a Masters from NIU in 1997 with a stylistics focus, rode the dotcom boom with some elearning companies in Seattle and Chicago, and ended up back here in 2002.

Oh, and I'm married to Nicole Caulfield, who you might have heard of.

New Hampshire Democratic Convention - Revolt!

Holy crap. I just came back from the NH Democratic convention, and it was -- stunning. More later, but let's just say that against the wishes of the platform committee a taxation plank supporting the investigation of other forms of taxation passed 2-1. And looking at the plank, I think it's clear supporting the Pledge is against that plank.

Weather & Why you should post

So, I've been slacking on posting and building out the community because the weather has been too nice to spend in front of a computer. And next week I won't be online at all. But I wanted to tell everyone to really feel free to write a blog post on anything. Seriously. If you just got done watching American Idol, and you *completely* agree with who was voted out -- go ahead. This is a local information site, and what gets me jumping-up-and-down excited is seeing stuff like David and Brett's st… Continue

Hey Mike.

Great network - thanks for doing this! I just added a song recorded by my band Bare Bones. I'm not sure if it's possible to add it to the playlist on the main page but feel free to do so if you like.

Rock on local musicians!

Mike -
I'm going to start a group on CK about nature. Would you vote on the following two names:

"In Our Nature" - Brett
"Citizen Wild" - Dave, w/ or w/out a !

I think we will be better off with the former, but I get figgety with the staid naturalist culture, as you can see with all my pics of dead stuff. I need a tutorial on the group thing. Anybody less busy than you who can help?

I'm not sure yet. Kelty is home sick so some of it will depend on how she feels. I would like to and at this point I am planning on it. Not sure if Patrick has any desire.

My buddy Chip Blake is Editor in Chief of Orion Magazine, a literary that deals with the intersection of human culture and nature. He thinks Citizen Keene is the real thing - high praise!
